Arranging home care for a family member is one of the most significant decisions you will make. The provider you choose will enter your loved one's home, learn their routines and, in many cases, become a trusted part of their daily life.
Before committing to any provider, we recommend asking the following:
- Will we always have the same carer? Agencies that rotate staff offer a very different experience from providers with a named-carer model.
- Who oversees clinical governance? Ask whether a qualified clinical professional supervises care planning and staff.
- Are you CQC registered? All providers of regulated activity must be registered. Ask for the provider registration number.
- How are carers recruited and trained? DBS checks, references and ongoing training are non-negotiable minimums.
Whitehills Care is happy to answer all of these questions — and more — during a no-obligation initial consultation.
